A Heartfelt Invitation to Support the Foran Family Dana-Farber Lighthouse Challenge
“You have cancer.”
Perhaps you or someone you love has heard these words. Whether a relative, friend, coworker, or neighbor, cancer affects us all. The American Cancer Society predicts over 2 million diagnoses this year alone.
This diagnosis has profoundly impacted our family. Our father was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in 2015, and his battle continues. Our mother, diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2023, tragically passed away last fall.
Throughout this journey, we were inspired by our parents’ strength. Our mother, especially, faced her diagnosis with the quiet, unwavering resolve of a lighthouse—standing tall, guiding, and reassuring us all.
We are also deeply grateful for the doctors and medical teams at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, whose exceptional care gave us more time with our mom. Their research continues to offer hope for countless individuals battling cancer today and in the future.
In honor of our mother’s legacy and the countless lives touched by cancer, we’ve established the Foran Family Dana-Farber Lighthouse Challenge. Our mission is twofold: to raise funds for Dana-Farber’s critical research and to support families currently navigating their own cancer journeys.
Over the coming months, we’ll host three key events: a golf tournament at Cummaquid Golf Club, a team in the Jimmy Fund Walk, and an evening gala at Chatham Bars Inn. We invite you to join us in one, two, or all three events. Together, we can be a lighthouse for those facing this devastating disease.
Thank you for your support. Together, we can make a difference.
Warm regards,
The Foran Family
